LOCAL Driver Discovers Body Under Car

from WDIV Detroit TV 4

A teenage driver who said she thought she had a flat tire pulled off the road only to discover a body underneath her car.

The 17-year-old girl, of River Rouge, pulled her white Ford Taurus into the BP gas station in Lincoln Park. When she stepped out the vehicle to check out the back of her car, she saw a man's body lying underneath.

Police said they believe the man, who is about 64-years-old, is homeless and that he somehow got hooked on the back of the vehicle and was dragged from Shaeffer Road and Fort Street in southwest Detroit for several miles to the gas station.

Lincoln Park and Detroit police said they don't believe the driver is responsible. The man has been identified, but his information has not yet been released
