Truck Hauling Toilet Paper Catches Fire, Interstate Shut Down

A truck hauling toilet paper caused a big mess on the Thruway in western New York last night.

State Police say the truck caught fire while traveling eastbound between the Pembroke and Batavia exits shortly after five last evening. Troopers say the driver managed to escape unharmed from his burning rig.

Troopers blocked off the right lane as crews worked to clean up a load of toilet paper that spilled onto the road. It caused traffic to back up for several miles.

No serious injuries were reported.
