Britney Spears Files for Divorce

Britney Spears has filed for divorce from husband Kevin Federline. Celebrity news Web site TMZ.com first reported the filing and obtained the legal papers filed by Spears.

The singer cited "irreconcilable differences" in the petition and is asking for both "legal and physical custody" of the couple's two children, 1-year old Sean Preston and 2-month-old Jayden James. The couple, who married in 2004, has an "iron-clad pre-nup" and Spears has hired celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser for her case. Wasser has represented the likes of Angelina Jolie and Nick Lachey.
