Tenn Black Caucus Targeted for Racism

FOXNEWS.com reports Tenn. Representative Stacy Campfield (R) was rejected for membership by the Tenn. Black Caucus. Campfield claims that the caucus denied his admission as a full member because he is white. The chairman of the caucus said that Campfield's admission was first rejected because they felt the request was a joke. Now, however, the chairman believes that Campfield has other motives. The chairman believes that Campfield wants to know how the caucus spends their money.

The caucus's meetings are open to anyone. And they regularly give out honorary memberships. In an interview Rep. Campfield compared the caucus's membership policies to that of the KKK. The NAACP has demanded that the representative resign.

It should be known that there is no law that requires the caucus to disclose who donates their thousands of dollars they receive in contributions. In this day and age where politicians and legislators are indicted for money laundering and other SEC violations, open disclosure of funds need to be available. Campfield is obviously trying to draw attention to this problem by trying to gain admission. If donors of funds are kept secret, there is no way of telling what special interests are at play.
