US Senator Gets Runner Up Prize in Powerball Lottery

United States Senator Judd Gregg (R) N.H., bought a Powerball ticket on a whim that ended up being a winner. Gregg matched all the numbers except the powerball so he gets to split the runner-up prize ($40 million) with 47 other winners. Gregg will receive roughly $850,000 pre-tax. The senator says that he will donate the winnings to the Hugh Gregg Foundation, a N.H. charity started by his father. Judd Gregg is reportedly worth $7.7 million.
