Swarm of Bees Attack, Kill Man
from WDIV Detroit TV 4
An Arizona man has died after he and his father were attacked by a swarm of bees.
Authorities said the 39-year-old man and his father were working on the roof of a home Sunday when they accidentally disturbed a bee hive. The father sought refuge inside the home but the son stayed outside to try to ward off the bees. The son was stung about 300 times. The father was stung about 100 times and is hospitalized in stable condition.
Sheriff's deputies and firefighters used foam to placate the angry bees. Two emergency workers also were stung but are OK.
Officials did not know what type of bees attacked the men.
