DISCUSSION THREAD McDonald's to Include Nutrition Information on Packaging


Starting next year, McDonald's will be printing nutritional information for its menu items on the packaging. In a press release CEO Jim Skinner said that "[they] will be putting the inromation the customers need literally into their hands." US restaraunts will be rolling the changes out in the first half of '06.

Are fast food giant's, such as McDonald's, responsible for helping people make healthy choices for their diets?

It is common knowledge that fast food is unhealthy. However, I think that nutritional information for fast food is not as readily available as it should be. Fast food is eaten by most people more often than other types of restaraunts like Friday's or Chili's. I think that it is a smart move for Mickey D's to print the info on the wrappers. But I don't think that anyone will read it...

Great not only do I already know that what I eat isnt good for me but know I get to read it as Im bitting into a nice big "big mac".
